Cuvette Material: Cuvette material is the most important part to be considered while buying a UV VIS measurement as various types of materials may be used whole assembling Cuvettes. The four best Cuvette materials are as follows UV quartz, IR quartz, Sapphire and optical Glass or Pyrex glass. All the four materials are best in their nature and it purely depends on the applications based on which the materials are Chosen.

Optical Glass Cuvette: The cheapest and will be helpful when you are running out of money. Optical glass functions nicely with VIS range and maintain 340-2500 mm transmission range. Optical glass is used for number of applications and you need not use other materials which contains additional UV range.

UV Quartz: UV quartz is bit expensive compared to optical glass and exhibits transmission to an extended range between190-2500 mm. You can use only UV quartz Cuvettes forUV experiments. Going for cheaper Cuvettes will not serve the purpose in UV experiments and the result will not be up to the mark.

IR Quartz: IR quartz is best advisable for UV VIS measurements maintaining a range of 220-3500 mm which is useful in IR.

Sapphire is a hard material which is damage resistant and scratch resistant and most expensive material among the four materials and has a wide range of 250-5000 mm and can be used in all applications.

Spectrophotometer Cuvettes: Fluorescence Cuvettes contains four windows which are parallel and gets fitted in the UV quartz. These are less expensive and better than spectrophotometer.

When your demands are not met by the above Cuvettes then you need not worry or panic at all as the manufacturers will produce Cuvettes as per your requirements. By stating the specifications required the Cuvettes needed will be manufactured by the manufacturers.
