This is to ensure cleaning and levelling of the balance for proper usage and increased shelf life.


What is a daily visual balance check and why is it required

Visual balance check should be a daily practice in any laboratory. The results of this operation should be documented on a regular basis for later checking. The visual balance check consists of a cleaning test and levelling test that checks whether the device is fit for operation and is accurate. Do this on a daily basis is very important and it is best undertaken by a staff member who will regularly adhere to it at the same time every day.

There are certain test requirements that the device should meet after the test is conducted. If there is any deviation in the results, it implies that the device is faulty and the results it produces are not accurate. Hence it shouldn't be employed for measurements till the underlying issue is addressed and rectified.

How to perform the daily visual balance check

The first step is to define the test sequence. After defining a test sequence and opening the setup, it should be given a name. Set it up against standard testing conditions for the next stage of the procedure.

Next, the method of testing has to be defined. Any additional test sequence parameters can also be set up at this stage. Once you initiate the test sequence, it is possible to save the settings or delay the entire process by a chosen amount of time which is not greater than one hour. After this time, the balance gets blocked.

The consecutive stage is defining the task and running the sequence. You can also automate the system to do the tasks at the same time on chosen days. Or you can define any exception days when you wish to skip the process with this alternative. Alternately, it can be manually enabled with the test sequence function key. Once all the settings are done as per the above sequence, you can exit the test sequence and perform the daily visual balance check as per plan on a daily basis.
